About Helpmum
Helpmum is a pioneering Nigerian healthtech social enterprise founded in 2017, focused on reducing maternal and infant mortality through innovative use of mobile technology, AI, and low-cost solutions. The organization empowers mothers, healthcare workers, and traditional birth attendants in rural, semi-urban, and urban communities with clean birth kits, access to critical information, and vaccination tracking platforms.
Since inception, Helpmum has impacted over 60,000 mothers through programs that include the HelpMum Clean Birth Kit, eLearning platforms for health workers, and digital AI products like MamaBot and VaxAI. Their platforms provide vaccination reminders, health tracking, and training resources to communities and clinics. Helpmum has received major funding, including grants from the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation and Google Impact Challenge, winning awards for its scalable social impact.
The organization collaborates with global partners (Meta, Google, Ashoka) and has launched open-source AI models to further maternal health research. Helpmum’s team includes recognized healthcare and tech professionals like founder/CEO Dr. Abiodun Adereni and an advisory board from international organizations.
